Welcome to the 5th Glasgow Anchor Boy & Junior Section Page
The 5th Glasgow BB's Anchor Boys is for boys in P1-P3 at school. They meet in St John's Renfield Church large hall on Tuesday night between 6.15pm and 7.30pm. The boys take part in games, drill/marching, art & craft activities and participate in the Anchor Boy Achievement Programme.
The Junior Section also meet between 6.15 and 7.30pm on Tuesday nights from September until June. The Junior Section is for any boy from Primary 4 through to Primary 6. Boys are encouraged to undertake a variety of achievements, gaining recognition for each one completed. At the end of the session they should have gained a Badge - Target & Bronze (P4), Silver (P5), or Gold (P6).
As you will see from the notes below the Junior Section also compete with other companies in the Partick District Area with usually at least one competition a month throughout the year. Over the years the 5th have enjoyed a large number of individual successes cumulating in us often winning the overall Partick District Junior Section Title. While it is good to win it is just as rewarding seeing the boys competing and enjoying themselves with other boys from outwith their own immediate environment.
In addition we have Halloween and Christmas parties and on a Saturday at the end of May or early in June we take the boys away for a fun day out. On a Tuesday evening towards the end of May we hold our Annual Inspection & Prize Giving when family and friends are invited to come along and see the boys in action.
